Established in 1961 and opened in 1962, LUTH is located in the Idi-Araba area of Lagos. It serves as a major medical center for the training of healthcare professionals and the provision of specialized patient car
LUTH is a federal hospital and serves as the last referral point for many complex medical cases in Lagos and beyond. This translates to a heavy workload, but also a great learning experience.

- Not the best, but manageableβbe grateful for a space within the hospital.
Types of accommodation:
- RMO 1, RMO 2, RMO 3 β Allocated via balloting, with payments made to the housing department.
- RMO 5 & RMO 6 β Available without balloting.
Downside:
- Shared bathroom & toilet with the next room.
- Limited spaces compared to the number of House Officers.
Upside:
- Steady light & water (most of the time).
- Close to the hospital, which is convenient for night calls.
