If you are a Nigerian medical graduate currently facing issues with your MDCN Housemanship Center cancellation, this guide explains exactly what to do, who to contact, and how to speed up the process.

📩 Where to Send Your Housemanship Cancellation Requests

All housemanship cancellation-related issues should be sent directly to:

📧 housemanship@mdcn.gov.ng

When sending your email, ensure you include:

  • Your full name (as registered on the MDCN portal)

  • MDCN Registration Number

  • The name of the hospital or center you wish to cancel

  • A short explanation of your situation

You can send a follow-up email if your cancellation hasn’t been processed after a while.

⏳ How Long Does MDCN Housemanship Cancellation Take?

Typically, cancellations occur automatically within 2 to 4 weeks after submission.
However, the processing time depends on several factors — especially the type of center you selected.

🧭 If You Mistakenly Chose a Center

MDCN often does not immediately believe claims of accidental selection, so you should:

  1. Wait for 2 weeks after submission.

  2. Send an email request to housemanship@mdcn.gov.ng.

  3. Wait for another 2 weeks for possible cancellation.

🏥 Competitive Centers

For highly competitive centers (those with limited slots), cancellations usually occur faster, since many applicants are waiting to take those spaces.

🏘️ Non-Competitive Centers

If your selected center is non-competitive, you may need to wait 2 weeks or longer before MDCN processes your cancellation.
