🧭 Orientation

Varies by department — depends heavily on your assigned MO or Consultant

🩺 Core Responsibilities

  • Ward rounds (regular + grand rounds)
  • Patient management (you are the primary driver)
  • IV access
  • Urethral catheterization
  • NG tube insertion
  • Insulin administration
  • IV antihypertensives
  • Documentation & execution of care plans

💡 Workload is generally manageable, but responsibility level is high.


Staff & Culture

  • Seniors are mostly Medical Officers (MOs)
  • Low toxicity overall
  • Exception: Paediatrics can be more intense
  • Nurses are generally cooperative (relationship-dependent)
