FUTH Owerri is a federal teaching hospital and one of the best training centers in Owerri, Imo State. The workload varies by unit—some weeks may be light, while others can be intense. There are strong hands-on learning opportunities, although some postings, especially Obstetrics & Gynecology, can be quite demanding.
Accommodation
Accomodation ranges from 3 bedroom flat with a HO to each room and all common kitchen, and then to the one room and parlour apartment.
Getting accomodation is dependent on the period many old house officers are leaving and also knowing personally a senior house officer who you can present to the accomodation allocation officer. Each accomodation comes with a very comfortable orthopaedic foam and bed with a carved out niche as kitchen, quite spacious.
Amount payable per space ranges from 10k to 13k per month.

Obstetrics & Gynecology reportedly has some very difficult senior staff, although there are also supportive individuals.
Nurses administer most medications, except chemotherapy and some IV drugs.
Food Situation
You can cook and store food in the refrigerator if accommodated in the HO quarters.
Call food is provided during calls.
